Vivian studies!

We've met Esther Baah in Ghana 1 year ago. She is a smart hard working woman of 50 years old. She has 2 children of her own, Vivian and Daniel, and also takes care of the children of her late sister. Esther is a widow for many years now and the solebreadwinner. She lives in a 2 rooms flat and has to travel 5 hours to work every day. You can imagine life is not easy for Esther and financially they can't afford anything 'extra'.

Now Esther has a challange but also a chance!

Vivian, Esther's daughter, is 18 years old and happens to be a very intelligent and talented girl. She doesnt live at home but at her school far away from her family. She finishes school in 2020 and would than like to start university. Journalism, thats her dream. She loves to read and write and is actually very good at it. Her skills and intelligence have also been noted by her school... and now comes the good news... she recently got selected to represent Ghana at the 2019 Global Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC!! This leadership programm helps students with international leadership strategies, learn from different cultures and seeing the world in a different light. She will also build up credits for the George Mason University. 

This would be an enourmous chance for Vivian (and her family). Not only can she widen her perspective but also increase chances of a foreign education. And although Ghana is very serious about education, its not the sort education that builds big careers. Students in Ghana are not supposed to think for themselves. So you might understand what a huge opportunity this is!!

But. This programm has a price tag. Costs for flying, accomodation, transport, food, ect are
E 3000,-. Esther can't affort this. And although we as Esther's employers try to help her and her family in every way, we can't affort this either. So we need your help to give Vivian and Esther a shot at a bright future, a global perspective and learning to think for herself!

Because we expect this to be the first of many steps in Vivian's exciting learning career.
