Queer Summer

HELP SUPPORT QUEER ARTISTS

Dear community,

As part of our Queer Summer, we are organising a number of activities in July in and around WORM (a summary of these activities can be found below). We have a wonderful programme planned for you all, with some really cool activities and queer artists! As a queer grassroots organisation, however, we have a limited budget to pay the artists working with us enough for their efforts, their vulnerability, and their work. We have a lot of lovely people willing to work with us for minimal budget (which in some cases is only enough to reimburse travel costs), but we really want to be able to support our queer siblings in the way they deserve.

Our starting goal is € 1000. We will use this money to adequately pay the artists, DJs, hosts, and photographers of our activities this summer and beyond! Any money that is left over after the summer will go straight into our activities for the rest of this year. We are a non-profit organisation and we promise to use your queer money only for queer purposes!

The programme for Queer Summer is as follows:

We’re starting the month off right with the second edition of THEY - A Nonbinary Celebration â˜„️🚀. On July 7th, we will host a number of (yet to be announced) non-binary artists and speakers to provide a platform and share our art and experiences. ðŸ¦„

On July 11th the Queer Summer Poetry Nights #6 by Unwanted Words will take place in Ubik

In the weeks after, we’re gonna get active with a Queer Gym Class on July 14th and a game of Capture the F/ag on July 21st - let’s move🎽, exist and/or rest in our queer bodies together. These activities will be accessible to all levels of skill and sporty-ness!🏆

Then, we’re gonna adorn those bodies with some new(ish) clothes at a Queer Clothing Swap👒👑🧦 in our QR living room! Make sure to bring your clothes of all sizes and styles, bring those post-Kondo garbage bags full of clothes that don’t spark joy for you anymore but might be the most affirming item your queer pal has ever worn!🐛>🦋

Finally, the Queer Summer will end with a bang at KLAUN on the 26th of July: a new queer party in Rotterdam. More info TBA
